1. Raw materials. The core of UHMWPE pipe production is molecular weight. The higher the molecular weight of the raw material, the better the abrasion resistance. However, the use of abrasion-resistant pipes can not only depend on molecular weight, but also consider other mechanical properties and stability of use. High molecular weight raw materials may not be able to produce high molecular weight polyethylene pipes with good comprehensive performance. Ultra high molecular weight polyethylene pipe processing technology is also different from different manufacturers. There may be no difference in the surface of the ultra high molecular weight polyethylene pipe that may be produced. But the indicators are very different.
2. Mold. UHMWPE Tube production mold is a key factor affecting the quality of UHMWPE pipes. If the mold compression ratio design is not reasonable, it will lead to difficult extrusion of the pipe, insufficient density, poor pressure resistance, and low mechanical properties. The structure is unreasonable, the plasticization is not good, the extrusion fluctuation is large, the pipe is easy to crack, and the operation is difficult. The production operation of UHMWPE pipes is mainly based on experience, good mold design and operation, and stable production. As long as the temperature does not change significantly, the appearance of the pipe will not be affected by changes in the external environmental temperature.
3. Extrusion process. The extrusion process of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene pipes is also critical to the pipes. Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene pipes of different molecular weights must have different processing extrusion temperatures. When the molecular weight is 250 ± 500,000, the plasticizing temperature is about 240 degrees. If it is too low, the surface of the pipe is not smooth enough and plasticization is not good. If it is too high, the pipe will come out well, but the degradation will increase. For the same raw material, generally a mold needs to be adjusted to set a suitable temperature, which depends on the actual operation of the worker to adjust.
